Go Tailur!

Last night the kids and I got to watch Tate play in his first middle school "away" game which just happened to be here in our home town. All I can say is "That boy is good." I know he had two touchdowns and one extra point and they won the game by quite a bit. Tate is #34 and has long blue sleeves. In the first picture, he is catching the ball and starting to run away from the pack. The second picture is him in the end zone after scoring a touchdown....No Dance?
It is hard watching with two little ones there. Ian took his bag of toys and Anna had snacks. Aunt Kimmie still bought them goodies from the concession stand.
My dad, stepmother, and grandma were also there to cheer Tate on.
Afterwards, we all went to eat and visit. It was a great night but Tate had to get home so he could study.....Smart to.
I look forward to watching Tate in the future. GREAT GAME!

Back to School Lunch.

This past Sunday my grandma had a lunch before all the grandkids went back to school. It is so much fun to get together and with marriages and extended families it is getting harder to do so. Seems like when Grandma says she is cooking and making ice cream people come. We had great weather and fun games. I am not sure who won ladder golf but Tate and Anthony were the cornhole champs much to Shane's disgust (sore loser). Ian and Garrett played each other as well but this turned into a bean bag fight that I thought was very funny. They get along so well. Jarrod thought Ian and Garrett were him and Brent years ago. I didn't think Brent was that mean to him but he told me some stories that made me think other wise. It was a good time. Can't wait to do it again.

I'm Batman!

Sometimes when Ian goes to the restroom he takes off his pants and underwear. Not sure why but he does. Then you fight with him to get them back on. This is what happened the other night. However, it wasn't that he wouldn't put them back on, it was that he put them on wrong.

This is what I got. So when I tried to explain to him that he had them on wrong he quickly corrected me saying "I want to wear them this way so I look like batman." What can you say to that?

Well, seeing Ian - I mean Batman - inspired Anna and I think she wanted to look like Wonder Women.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOAD!
Every year since Jodi has been gone a group of family and friends try to get together to celebrate and catch up. I have missed the last 4-5 years because I couldn't make the long drive during the week. The gathering last night was a bit closer to home so I went. Jodi would have been 26 years old this year. Man are we getting old. It is interesting to me to see each of her friends get older and start families when I still think of her as 19. I think it is fair to say we all loved her very much and miss her even more. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOAD! (OK. Y'all know that she is making sure to party in style up there and it is still HER day. Don't forget that or lightening may just find it's way to you today.)

Kim Minnic, Katie, Me, Kim (My sister), and Jenni. Not sure why we all look so weird in this picture.
Katie, Me, Kim, and Jenni. This one looks much better.

Thanks girls for coming and sharing in this special day. I hope that this is something we do until we are old and gray.

Staying at Mema's

Staying at Mema's has become one of the kids favorite things to do. They get so excited and can't stop talking about it when they get home. This Saturday Mema took the kids overnight so Shane and I could go to a party. Her new house has a neighborhood pool that is three foot on one end so Ian loves it. He is all about practicing swimming on his own. Ray even had him diving for pennies on the bottom this time.

Mema and Ray's neighbor has a swing set and trampoline that the kids are allowed to play on when they come over. They like this and Ian does this funny little dance where he jumps around with his hands by his mouth and teeth out saying...."I'm the Easter Bunny looking for carrots." It is hilarious.

When Shane and I got there on Sunday they all, Mema and Ray included, looked exhausted. I think Mema and Ray had just as much fun.
National Night Out

Every year the Police Departments, Fire Department, and EMS get together and hold "National Night Out" at the park here in town. They have games, food, ice cream, face painting, kid (finger) printing, hummer rides, and if the weather is good, the Samaritan Helicopter flies in. It is so much fun and the kids love it. Usually, Shane has to help out but this year he had it off and got to go with us. Anna actually got to jump in the "jumpy houses" (as Ian calls them) and didn't want to leave. Ian loved the obstacle course one and the hummer ride. Look at his face. I didn't get many pictures and none of Anna for some reason. Maybe next year.
